Striking image, Alan. Love the colours, sharp and frozen in motion wings and the flowers. The green background sets the bird off very well.

This is lovely.
I love the scale of the flower to the hummingbird.
The leaves and flower are lovely and lend themselves well to this nice comp.
Tack sharp and incredible details in the feathers. Look like fish scales on the throat with the tight scalloped edges.
If I was to nitpick I would evict the tip of the leaf halfway up LHS,
Gail

Alan, nice detail throughout. Not much more to say! How are you liking the d800 fps for birding?

Gorgeous in most every way.....not suprising.
I liked Gail's idea regarding ejecting the one leaf.
Another consideration might be to tone down some
of the reflective highlights on
the flowers, probably caused by the flashwork....

Hey Miguel, It works great for non action. I have used it for some flight photography. You do miss a few images due to 4FPS, but when you do get one, it's some amazing detail for BIF.

Beautiful detail Alan. With just the two flashes, how did you set their position? Thanks.

Hey Pete, both flashes were at 45 degrees on either side pointing at the bird. The height was just above the bird. Thanks.

Very well done Alan, you certainly don't need four flashes to make a great hummer picture. Now, is the BG natural or is that a print of out-of-focus BG?

Hey Juan, the BG is a print of an out-of-focus tree line.
