Sticking with colour (will revert to B&W again soon!) here is a young Waterbuck from the northern Kruger Park last year.
Love the autumn Mopani colours in the background.

Techs:
Nikon D3s with Nikkor 500mm f4 VR-II

The colors in this image really stand out, Morkel, esp on the left side of the frame. I also love all the amazing details you have in the fur of this unique looking antelope...at least for me. I find the alert pose and bugs to be a plus, adding to the story here.

Soft light and nice colors. Does this need a bit of CCW rotation. I'd go to Photoshop and right-click on the Clone Stamp drop-down thing and select the TRT, the Tick Removal Tool.

Morkel - I agree - beautiful fall colors, excellent detail and pose. I think the head is slightly cocked to the side which may be why Artie is suggesting some CCW rotation.

Beautiful colours, makes a 'pretty' photo which is quite refreshing. Excellent details.

Morkel,

What tremendously photogenic animals these are, if I had a nit which I do not really it might be the OOF rump.

Nice colors and super detail here. I find these shots difficult to compose for my tastes.

Hi Morkel, lovely Autumnal colours and the Mopani colours give a nice vibrancy on the LHS.

Good detail where it counts and I like the depth in both the Chestnut eye and muzzle, good control of the shadow areas. Personally I might look to 'softening' the area around where the two ears touch on the RHS as viewed, helps to separate the subject more IMHO.

Jackpot on the light and BG. I vote to keep the ticks.

Great detail and sweet light. Colors make me yearn for the autumn up north

Thanks for your kind comments, folks. I wondered if some might find the BG colours "too much" ito competing with the subject.
This is not cropped much at all - probably 99.9% of full frame as posted :bg3:
