Not as interesting or featuring nice behaviour as the tug-o-worm or wingstretch images I posted of this species earlier, but I rather like the light and colours in this one. Plus, this species is one of the cuter ones...hard to resist photographing!

canon 7D + 100-400L @370mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/8, ISO 800, small crop for comp, natural light, handheld, some specular highlights removed from the vegetation, and an OOF whitish circle (possible OOF gull) eliminated at right edge of frame.

Superb clarity on this shot, Dan. Two thumbs up!

Daniel:

I was struck by the sense of separation from the BG, almost 3D, in a good sort of way. Good angle, very sharp, well exposed, nice angle in frame, good comp. Lovely light.

Sweet.

Cheers''

Daniel - you keep showing us some spectacular images of this plover! Great stuff. I'm always impressed with the amount of detail that you get in the plumage and the sharpness that you acquire throughout.

This is quite lovely! I wish I could see the feet but that's sort of an obnoxious wish, so mostly I just like this photograph because of the depth of bird, clarity, and light.

Lovely captured Plover Dan, just enough saturation to give it natural look, your sharpening is spot on also, well caught mate.

Hi Dan, superb IQ, light and sharpness, and a perfect perspective. Another image with a good DOF effect, and just love that BG. You seem to have these guys sorted. :w3

Awesome portrait. A 9 of 10 in my book. Would be a 10 of 10 if that foreleg would have lifted a bit more to get a clean view of the foot,
or even a slightly better view...You're right, these birds are super cute. I would never pass on an opportunity to photograph these cuties,
particularly when the light is this good.

Thanks all! Shawn, I agree and was thinking the same thing as I was processing the image :-)

Looking at the image again I think I may tame the highlight touching the far leg...funny how some things seem appear after another look!
