Shot in early morning on my last day.

Very nice pose, composition and background. Willet's are kind of plain unless you get them in flight. Congratulations on this great shot and your first post. Keep them coming.

Excellent image, I like the slight head turn and position of the bird to you, excellent job capturing what is a plain looking shorebird and seeing how beautiful they really are while in flight, excellent image!

Welcome to BPN Neil!
I like the wings down position and the head angle. Good clean BG as well.
I would sharpen the head a tad more.
Good first post!

Thanks for all the good comments. Yes, they are rather plain, but in flight the wings really shine.

I love the eye contact, Neil. Agree with the sharpening suggestions, an easy fix to a fine image. Welcome and I look foward to more of your images.

Welcome to posting on BPN Neil!!! Great first post. Exposure, focus, BG, pose all look good. Just a bit more sharpening needed as already mentioned, and perhaps placing the bird a wee bit higher in the frame. Looking forward to more!:S3:

Neil, great first post! I would suggest a little more room in front and a little bit of sharpening overall (as suggested above). Hope to see more from you!

Welcome, Neil! What a wonderful flight shot. I love how the willet is angled towards us, and its wing position. Great light and I like your comp. Can't wait to see more.
