Taken today at Martin mere wetlands centre, Typical bright day but no sunshine and very little blue sky during a/noon, Spent nearly 6 hrs waiting for Marsh harriers to come up but none were obliging, had to make do with this no so common Gadwall. Have cropped about 50%, tweaked the exposure a little , sharpened and then used the blur tool under the wing as there was noise showing in the large image.
Canon 1D mkIV.
Canon 500 f4 is + 1.4 conv= 700mm
1/1600. F 6.3, ISO 800.

Great capture! I would only consider sharpening the head a bit more. Otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing!

I love everything about this one--the incredible underwing detail, the high key look, and the bird angling slightly towards you with a great head angle to boot. The head looks pretty sharp from here.

Excellent shot, love the flared tail, wing, feet and the intense look in the eye.

Very nice high key image.
Wings look great and although I usually prefer a downward wing position I still really like this,

Rock solid duck in flight image with the creative high key approach done very well.
I think the duck's body angle and extended rear wing fit the frame and comp great.

Ivan, Beautiful shot. I like the high key background and the details especially in the far wing.
