The details are sharp as posted, and the BG looks good. So do the colours. I'd look into opening up the blacks as I'm sure there are more details in there somwhere, and I do find the composition rather tight.

I like the colors here and also the composition.I like how nicely you have framed the bird,but would have loved a little more space towards the right( front of the bird) and top of the frame.Great Work,Peter

Thanks - appreciate the comments. I do have room on the right side to open up that area a bit. When I have some time I'll re-work and re-post.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks - Christopher also found it a bit tight on the right side so I'm detecting a bit of a theme. As I mentioned to Chris I will re-visit this one to open up the right side and perhaps run it through NIK (color efex) to see what I can bring out in the black feathers.

Based on the comments regarding the wing detail and the extra room needed on the right side here is a re-worked version. Nothing dramatic - just some extra room right and top, and in Color Efex I set two points (feathers in lower left, and feathers on the head). Detail extractor set to 24, saturation 2, and contrast to 7. When I pushed it much more than this it started to look a bit artificial.
