A Grand Arches Vista

This is one of those views that make Arches NP so special.....the grand vista near courthouse towers and the 3 gossips. This location took some time to find but gives you a sense of the granduer or Arches.
Canon 1D Mark 3 with the 17-40mm lens at 17mm at f/22 for 1/100 sec. at ISO 400. Perspective correction done in CS5 and cropped to a pano. Saved at 77 quality to fit.

I like the composition and the juxtaposition of the buttes. I see some dust and artifacting in the sky.

Nice composition and interesting subject Roman.

But I see a light blue halo, particularly on the edges of the taller rocks on the right and continuing to the top of the lower rocks on the far right side of the frame. And it does seem that there are some dust specks in the sky.

Roman, aside from the dust (and, I think, a little over-sharpening), I really like this one. I was at Arches for the first time in July and found the scenery gorgeous but difficult to photograph effectively. You found the spot!

Alas......the right monolith casts a shadow on the others.....hard to believe! I will try this pre-dawn in a few months!
