Imaged on a northern Michigan lake a few weeks back. Another dark but still morn.

D4 600VR f/5 1/400s ISO 1000 SB900 with Better Beamer, fill flash Pedestal mounted on floor of my little boat

Post: CS5, selective sharpening, minor water clean up, no NR

I liked the texture on the neck. The jagged necklace isn't oversharpened causing jaggies, the feathers are jagged all by themselves.:S3:

My last image in the fog was rather low contrast, as it appeared that day. Not so much here.

Advice and comments always appreciated.

Cheers

Randy

A please to get a look at another unique loon capture. Great low and lovely HA. Normally, the wet looks aren't too becoming, but this one works esp with all those details in the neck feathers and the striated white feathers at the base of the "chin." Stunning green BG. My mind is wishing for a tad more space on top.

Excellent exposure and details. The low angle is what we've come to expect from you. Love the green BG. I agree with Marina about wanting a bit more room up top.

Thanks folks. I did think about the room at top, and you have reenforced my concern.

Appreciate it.
