Sanjeev,

This is a nice picture really like this one - opportunity is cropping. The general rule for this type of shot is 1/3 perch, 1/3 subject and 1/3 background. In this image you are heavy on the perch and light on the background. This puts the frame out of balance and crowds the subject.

The bird is amazing and beautiful, nice subject capture. The techs are fine more feather detail or being critically sharp is always better,..however this is well done. Assume it is HH was a tripod an option? You nailed the light, well done and a great moment with nature and your camera. Thanks for posting and keep em coming!!

Really like this one Sanjeev. Harsh light but you handled it well. Nice head angle and great BG. Agree that less tree would be desirable but woodpeckers in this situation are tough to compose. I would play around with some crops to try to reduce the impact of the tree.
