Eastern Yellow Robins back to front....the perfect ID shot lol lol

Don't really get these in South .Australia except close to the Victorian border, very common in the Eastern States, so probably boring to all the eastern states folks. However I only see them if I travel at least 400 klms, so when the opportunity presents itself I go with the flow and get what I can. This pair were hanging around my campsite in the Lower Glenelg National Park, near Nelson Victoria.

Sadly very dull light with wintry skies in deep forest so hard to expose properly, probably should of used a bit stronger flash for better detail and less noise...and a smaller aperture for deeper dof....but maybe next time

Nikon D300 + Tokina 300mm....f4.5, 1/400, ISO 500, spot metering, tripod mounted, small crop, noise reduction applied especially the background

I would not complain about DOF or detail. The birds are cute, the background perfect and the composition and detail on the birds - heads to tail are great.

One of your nicest image.
Both birds sharp, great HA's, and DOF is fine.
Definitely a keeper!

Hi Phil, apt title, and the opposite poses shows off their colours nicely. The central placement works well.

Great poses and attractive birds. A bit more DOF on the rear bird would have been nice, but still a very good photo of two birds in the frame.
