Handheld. About 80% of Full Frame.

Photographed back in February at Viera Wetlands near Melbourne, FL.

It is amazing to see the contortions that these birds are capable of during these low flying feeding runs across the water.

I really like this image! One of my favorite birds. I have seen them do this a few times, but have never quite captured the minute..

Great capture, it's a wonder the neck can cope with this.

I do not think I have seen this type of behaviour before - not dunking their head in the water while flying. Very interesting. I do like the splash of the head/neck and the trailing feet.

A first for me with this kind of behavior as well, great timing and gotta love the water color and splashes

Excellent action captured with lovely composition.
Love the pose, superb blue water with nice rings in it and nice flash around the neck.

I have never seen this kind of behavior before. It is great that you were able to capture the precise moment.
Really unusual position and kudos to you for catching it.
Water splashes of head and feet add as well.

Great work on this one. This feeding behavior is fairly common, often seen at places like Gatorland and at the Alligator Farm here in St. Augustine. They also use it to snag twigs for nesting. The challenge is properly exposing the Snowy, given how close he is to the (reflecting) water. This is a very nice image.

Whoa...too cool!!! Great timing. Looks like a crash landing to me, haha.
