March, 2012.Taken in the late morning. Female is not as colorful as male, but I like the pose, so thought to share it.
Cropped from horizontal to vertical. Sharpened and NR applied to background.

Canon: 550D, 100-400.
Av mode, F: 6.3, 1/500, ISO: 200, Spot metering, White balance: Auto. HH.
Exposure bias: +0.3 stop.

Thanks for viewing and appreciation. C & C are much appreciated.
Best Regards.

Hi Satish, good IQ in this, and you certainly did capture a lovely pose. Nice and sharp, good detail, with a complimentary BG. I would maybe take a bit off the left, so as to move her from a central placement in the frame.

Very nice bird and the background and perch colors complement her well.

Satish, excellent pose and details. Horizontal will also work I think. Good that you did not get much motion blur at that SS. Its better to shoot at a slightly higher ISO even if you have the light. Tiny birds move a lot.

I get as much enjoyment from photographing less vibrant females of the species as much as ther more gaudy colored males...at least there are no bright shiny color to over expose hehehehe. This looks nice, and more mundane buff color tones of the background compliment the bird nicely. Perch is good as is the detail, my only though was , crop a little off the top = personal choice I feel.
