Here's a familiar sight in rural areas...a Savannah Sparrow watching traffic (or lack of!) along a dirt road fencing barbed wire. Very common, but no doubt overlooked by most motorists :-)

Canon 7D + 100-400L @350mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/640s., f/7.1, ISO 400, natural light, handheld from car as blind.

Techs are super as always, Daniel . Sweet image and indeed most people don't see what is around them, like this little fellow. TFS.

Fantastic IQ, great light and colors. Perfect BG. Not the most beautiful perch but a perfect fit here as it shows a popular perch of the species. Markus

Very nice image, Dan. The bird placement is perfect. Great light, sweet bg and great details. Somehow I don't mind the perch at all.

What a funny pose, just hanging out on the barb wire!
Perfect exposure and I like the barb wire perch. The rusted look has a lot of character.

No problems with the perch - it is rusted and aged not shiny new. Love the squat pose and all fluffed up.

great light details and BG, I have to say I'm not a fan of the barb wire and the pose is a bit too static. TFS

Barbed wire is a bit like Marmite...you either love it or hate it. I think it works great here. I like the pose and the birds fluffed up feathers.
