Went back and revisited my pics from January and found this one. I used Photomatix Pro to convert the raw file into a psudo HDR. I then loaded into PS CS 3 to fine tune it. I picked up Vivenza from Nik Software and it is really powerful. I picked unique shadow areas which I lightened and I cleaned up dust spots.
That's about it.
5d + 17-40L at 17mm; polarizer; f/18; 1/15; ISO 100

Huge difference between the two. I even like the shape the sun made. Nicely framed and composed,

Nice work Michael. What I like about it is that the sun's rays look to be flooding onto the FG and bathing it in the golden light.
