This shot demonstrated the benefit of having a camera with me at all times. I was actually just on my way from my summer cabin to town to buy a newspaper and morning coffee. The island was shrouded in the morning mist and fog.

Canon 40D
Tokina 28-70 ATX Pro @ 50mm
f8, 1/250, ISO 100
Tripod
Typical ACR conversion steps. Also, cloned out some swimming buoys from the lower right corner.

Looking forward to the feedback.

I love the depth the layers of mist add to the image. I think the centered island reflection make for a simple but pleasing composition. Maybe a little adjustment to add some contrast to the scene, but otherwise I like it a lot.

I agree this Jason on centering the island - that works, and on the contrast addition. Also, I think a bit of CCW rotation is needed. Nice serene feel to this image. Thanks for sharing it.

I like the simplicity here with the fog adding a sense of mystery to the island. Get the "horizon" level and this will be much better.

Horizon nit as noted. I really like the comp, and I'm a sucker for BGs that transition from warm to cool or cool to warm.
