Hi Simon Love that bg Really sets up the bird well !!! I like the pose and good head angle Might like more detail in the dark feathers Would also crop the bottom of the perch? I like it a lot !!!

Leaving the bottom of the perch as is keeps the image from being too boring and offers good balnce composition-wise IMO. If anything I would take a bit from the top. Quite a beautiful bird, and I agree that more detail in the blacks would be nice.

Hi Simon - This is a nice composition of this male Scarlet Robin. I would'nt crop this image any further as it typifies the habitat where it is often found. The breast colour here more resembles the Flame Robin but this no doubt is due to the warm early morning light. Neat perch!!! Well done!!

Lovely little bird. It's quite interesting to see birds from around the world posted here. The warm morning light really shows up nicely.

Pretty bird, great light, BG and details. I would decrease the contrast a bit for more details in the blacks.

What a nice bird! I like the BG as well. The perch is pretty boring and I agree that more detail in the blacks would be great.

Agree with Al on different crop. Otherwise I like this image very much. Here is my version :)
Slight crop from bottom, level change and 20% shadows and minor highlights. No saturation and other adjustments.

Leave the perch as is I say Simon.
Another fantastic Aussie bird. :)

Maybe a touch more detail in blacks as has been mentioned, but other than that the light is super!
