This was taken in my backyard in May. This was not the intended perch that this female decided to land on. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Only thing I'd pick you up on here Jim is the crop, my minds says a little more room on the right but then again you could possibly spend quite some time getting the crop to what you think is perfect and someone will ALWAYS come along and rain on your parade.

Would also like to see some local sharpening on the beak to make both parts more defined.

Excellent alert pose, comp, sharpness, bg, and I do love the perch too. This one certainly checks all my boxes.

One sweet image. Just a bit tight in the frame for my taste. But after all , it is subjective.:5

I like the perch too, and I like that there is separation between it and the tail. Good vertical comp, if only a bit tight in the frame. I do wish the displaced feathers on the belly were neater, but hey, quite a beautiful image overall.

I really cant find anything to fault with this, and I personally feel if the detail is high, as this is, then tight in the frame works well, light, backdrop and perch all work very well.
{ now if I wanted to get nit picky lol lol....tell the bird to comb it's breast feathers better next time }
