I finally got some time on Sunday morning to visit the Sandy beach in MA. It felt nice to be out there in the field. I was hoping to see more plover and tern chicks, but this year doesn't seem that encouraging.
I was glad this plover landed very close to where I was and started preening. I would love to here your thoughts on this one.

I like the preening pose, sharpness, feather on the beach, BG and low angle. Well done Rajan!

A very pretty image, Rajan. The super low angle is perfect, the pose is to die for, the stray feather in the center is cherry on top.
Love the bird placement and the comp too.
If anything, I'd remove the tiny bit of strat feather right below the bird's chest.

Rajan, What a wonderful opportunity and you created a lovely image from it. Plovers preening aren't that unusual, but the feather puts this one into a class of its own. Personally, I would trim a bit off of the bottom, but that is personal taste. Thanks for sharing this image, I really enjoyed viewing it.

Beautiful preening pose!! Love the eye and raised tail. I could see the subject a bit lower in the frame (or some canvas trimmed off below as per Grace), but man-o-man this is a fantastic image.

Hi Rajan,
This is lovely! The feather on the beach just puts this one over the top. I also like the tucked up foot.
You nailed this one!
I would rotate a tiny bit clockwise but no one has mentioned this so maybe I have had too many glasses of wine!

Gorgeous preening image, Rajan. Love that low angle, the curving lines of the bird, and how perfectly its head is parallel to the camera. I really like that feather on the beach too. Great job.
