I need your help.

I have shown this picture already once. Now I have differently worked EBV on it. Is it too sharp now?

1DMIV, EF500 & 1.4xIII, 1/1000 sec, f/7.1, ISO 500, bean bag from the car.

Thanks for the help.

Looks good to me. Excellent portrait shot, Frank.
If I want to be very picky I would mention that there is a white line along the top of the top mandible.
It is usually due to sharpening process and is easy to get rid of.

Thank you Karl.

The white line is unfortunately also in the image if it is not processed. The light comes from the right, which was not so good.

I remember this one, Frank. It's beautiful, and sharpening looks perfect to me. Again, terrific pose, bg and details.

You are right, Frank. I had the same issue a few pictures ago. I removed the white line, so people like me won't say; it is the result of sharpening.:bg3:
Thanks for coming back with the original.

A very beautiful portrait.
Love the calling pose and the green BG and tight comp.
Can you post a link to the previous picture so we can compare?

Looks good to me Frank. We have a Texas first record of this species here at the moment. Wish his plumage looked as good as this one.

Great portrait and nicely processed Frank. A handsome bird and the open mouth makes it special.

Thanks for sharing

super sharp, excellent details and nice light

the white subtle halo is the reflection on the shiny surface if the mandible, it is natural and we see it when the focus and sharpness is absolutely perfect like this one!

Gail, here is the old Version (http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php/94967-Black-tailed-godwit-portrait?highlight=Black-Tailed+Godwit).

@all, Thanks for your comments.

Hi Frank, super pose and close up, and I do like the fine feather detail and colours. The sharpness is spot on. At this distance, I feel you wont really improve the DOF on the body.
