Very nice shot. I think it captures both the coyote and NM well. I like the layered effect of the BG, although I would not blur it any further.

Steve,

Great looking image and the BG colors are great as well. However, I do think the BG is too blurred and looks unnatural. Without seeing the original, I can't comment specifically, but I would try quick-masking on the BG. Mask areas w/o the distractions, copy, paste too new layer, move over the poles, erase as needed, etc. The cloning tool is not up to the task of getting big elements removed.

The coyote's over the shoulder look is AOK with me and I like his placement.

Also agree with Robert on the blurring Also like the placement very much One that different works very well btw love that bg !!!

Nice shot overall. I like the pose and setting. The blur verges on unnatural to me as well

WhenI first looked I thoughtWOW but then I realised the foreground was just a little too burred as whas part of the background. I don't know how to do it but a pal of mine can do something called Lens Blur - but he can do it properly and that would take care of the problem for you. I don't know if Lens Blur is in Elements.
I love the composition and the lighting.
